Abstract
440,784. Filters. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES, Mulhouse, Haut-Rhin, France. June 17, 1935, Nos. 17424 and 17425. Convention dates, June 16, 1934 and Jan. 7, 1935. [Class 46] Rotary disc filters are built up of sector-shaped sections having convex outer surfaces. These surfaces may be spherical, cylindrical, conoidal or toroidal. A section shown in elevation in Fig. 2 and cross-section in Fig. 4 has a frame 1 with external ribs 1<a> which support filtering fabric 2 of metal or fibres. The ends of the cloths are fastened to the frames by strips 3 and screws 3a and the sides of the cloth are laced together through hooks 10 attached to the cloths or, if the latter are of metal, to bands 10 soldered to the cloths. The cloths may be reinforced by grids fixed over the outside. Figs. 5 and 7 show radial sections of other forms of element.
