Abstract
Exfoliated vermiculite, prepared from vermiculite (a complex hydrated magnesium-aluminium-iron silicate) by heating and disintegrating is employed as a dispensing agent for active fungicides or insecticides to be used as solutions or dispersions in water or other liquid.ALSO:Exfoliated vermiculite, prepared from vermiculite (a complex hydrated magnesium-aluminium-iron silicate) by heating and disintegrating, is employed as an inert carrier for active insecticides or fungicides to be used as dusting agents or to be dissolved or dispersed in aqueous or other liquid media for seed dressing or treatment of plants. Active substances specified are iodine, formaldehyde, nicotine, cuprous cyanide, thiazoles, arsenates of calcium, manganese and lead, and fluorine compounds such as cryolite, sodium fluoride, and sodium or barium fluosilicates. Reference is also made to an insecticide consisting of a mixture of celite with barium fluosilicate.
