Abstract

439,494. Colour photography. HEWITT, W. S., 296, Woodland Avenue, Petts Wood, Kent. June 5, 1934, No. 16656. [Class 98 (ii)] [See also Group XL] An original image is converted into a onedimensional image, such as may be used for television purposes, and this is projected by the lens system l<1>, l<2> and prism r to form a spectrum a b c d which is photographed on a panchromatic film with the interposition of a colour filter, if required. For kinematography, a gate consisting of a band t having a series of slits x and moving uniformly with the sensitive film may be used. Alternatively an image formed as described in Specification 328,286, [Class 40 (iii)], and occupying an area m n o p in which the definition is variable in the direction m n and uniform in the direction m p may be used. If a positive of the resulting record, illuminated by white light is projected by a reversal of the system, a reproduction of the line image in natural colours is stated to be formed at the slit x.
