Abstract

<PICT:0439393/III/1> <PICT:0439393/III/2> In film evaporators of the internally heated drum type and wherein the liquid to be treated is withdrawn from a receptacle and transported to the heated drum by means of feed rollers associated with one another and with the drum, the transmission is effected through an effective trough formed by the rollers without the use of pressure between the rollers and drum. In one form of the invention, the feed rollers b, c and the drum a rotate in the same direction. In a modification, adjacent rollers rotate in opposite directions, the feeding troughs in this case comprising axially running channel-like grooves l, Fig. 2, in the feed roller b.
