434,152. Cutting-appliances. ALLABY, J. H., 106, Newmarket Road, Waterloo, Ashtonunder-Lyne. June 20, 1934, No. 18195. [Class 31 (ii)] A tool for trimming the edges of sheet material, e.g. wallpaper, leather, or fabric, comprises a compressible handle carrying a razor blade trimming edge and a support for the sheet ; compression of the handle causes the trimming edge to pass through the sheet, which is then trimmed by relative movement of the tool and the sheet. As shown, the handle consists of a U-shaped resilient metal member 7, 8, of which one leg 7 has an inclined extension 9 to support a 3-holed razor blade 1, and the other leg 8 carries rollers 18, 19 between which the blade 13 engages when the legs are pressed together. In one form, Figs. 1 and 2, the sheet is guided by a channel member 20 adjustably secured to the leg 7 by a pin 24, slot 25, and nut 23. In another form, Fig. 6, the guide is dispensed with, and a guard member 29, 30 is provided against the blade 13.
