Abstract

433,907. Pipe joints. COOKSEY, A. C., 35, Mount Pleasant, Bilston, Staffordshire. June 8, 1934, No. 17009. [Class 99 (i)] Colliery air pipes &c. are built in sections, each length having a plain end A which enters a short sleeve a<1> secured over the adjacent end A<1> of the next length and projecting a short distance therefrom. The bore of the sleeve is increased slightly where it projects from the section A<1>. Lugs B, B<1> riveted to the sections are provided for drawing the pipe ends together by bolts b<1>.
