Abstract

433,121. Wheel tyres. GRAY, B. P., 14, Suffolk Street, Birmingham. Jan. 9, 1934, No. 757. [Class 144 (ii)] Metal plates embedded in the tread of a tyre cover are formed with one or more longitutinal ribs or other projections arranged to be flush with the tread surface, the end portions of the plate extending beyond the ribs &c. so as to prevent rocking of the plates in use. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the plate 17 is formed with serrated flanges 14, and perforations 21 by which the plate is keyed to the material of the tyre. Additional ribs or tongues, such as 30, Fig. 9, may be struck-up from the base of the plate, and the edge flanges may be replaced by tongues 26. According to the Provisional Specification, pins may be used instead of the plates.
