Abstract
433,014. Motors. DESOUTTER BROS., Ltd., and DESOUTTER, C., 73, Baker Street, London. Oct. 22, 1934, No. 30189. [Class 35] Terminals, arrangement on machines.-An electric motor, particularly for a hand-applied portable tool, has a field magnet winding removable from the casing and provided with contacts which connect with other contacts inside the casing so that connection is made or broken when the winding is inserted in or removed from the casing. As shown, the coil 10 and the magnet 5 are formed as a unitary structure removable from the casing. The coil is wound on a twopart insulating spool 7 which may be of moulded synthetic resin. The spool flanges are enlarged at one end 8 and recesses in these enlargements receive contact plates 9 connected to the winding ends. When the magnet structure is inserted in the casing, the plates connect with spring strip or plunger contacts forming parts of the internal circuits. Where a greater number of field windings is employed, each winding may have its own contacts or common contacts may be used for all the windings or for groups of them.
