Abstract

432,416. Pressure actuated flow meters. ELECTROFLO METERS CO., Ltd., and ENGEL, F. V. A. E., Abbey Road, Park Royal, London. Jan. 10, 1935, No. 886. [Class 69 (i)] Means for measuring the flow of liquids through conduits running full of liquid comprise a constriction formed by providing a single inwardly projecting portion of substantial length, tapered at one or both ends and disposed at one side or one part of the perimeter of the conduit. The projection may be formed by deforming or shaping the conduit wall, it may be solid as in Fig. 8, or it may be formed by a wall 3, Fig. 2, cast or otherwise formed, and having perforations leading to a pressure tapping pipe 9 or to a chamber communicating with the pipe. Other forms are described.
