431,799. Glazing windows ; frames; sash lifts, FOSTER, A., Fern Villa, Staindrop, and CRAWLEY, J. K., Quarry Hill, Brancepeth, both in Co. Durham. Feb. 21, 1934, No. 5751. [Class 20 (iii)] A window particularly for farm buildings has grooves formed ir the stiles or rails in which panes 8 are removably inserted so as to lie at an inclination to the vertical and preferably with the upper edge inside. The lower rail is rabbetted to receive the pane. The stiles may have recessed grooves providing projections 1<aa> on which the pane may be supported for ventilation, a handle or knob 8<a> being attached to the pane. The pane may also be in two parts one being movable. The upper sash may be hinged at 6. The grooves may be lined with felt to prevent rattling of the panes When the panes are slid intc horizontal grooves in the rails an abutment or fastener may be provided to retain them in position.
