Abstract

430,490. Valves ; cooling cylinders. GARELLI, A., 13, Via Zenale, Milan, Italy. Dec. 15, 1933, No. 35346. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] The inlet to the crank case of a two-stroke engine is controlled by a rotary valve comprising a disc-shaped portion 33 formed with a cylindrical flange 32 having a cut-away part 35 to co-operate with the inlet port 30 connected to the carburetter. Fan blades 39 on the flywheel 38 serve to force cooling-air through a casing 40 surrounding the cylinder. The engine may be combined with an air compressor comprising a piston on the same crank-pin as the working piston and operating in a cylinder at right angles to the working cylinder. The engine may be constructed as described in Specifications 289,483, [Class 7 (ii)], and 427,966, [Group XXXIV].
