Abstract

430,173. Stuffing box packing. RODWAY, G. H., Walmley, Cokes Lane, Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire. Dec. 14, 1933, No. 35242. [Class 122 (v)] A cup leather packing 9 is held in fluid tight engagement with a radial flange 7 of a metal casing by a plate 13 which is initially of dished form and is subsequently flattened to cause its periphery to bite into the said casing. The plate may have a rim, portion 15 to bear on the shaft engaging portion of the packing. According to the Provisional Specification the rim portion may be replaced by integral fingers on the plate.
