[Class 12 (i)] Balls c in a closed endless track b in one plane are arranged between the abutting members a, n, of a machine, part d of the track being constituted by hardened metallic strips e, o, inserted in and projecting from both members. The strips e, o may be curved, or, as shown, for supporting a reciprocating carriage n, they may be straight. The balls c are guided by members g, h. The ends of the strip e are tapered at i where the balls pass from the loaded part to the unloaded part of the track. The construction permits easy machining of the strips e, o, in situ.
