Abstract
429,171. Rotary compressors. NORTHEY, A. J., Rilston, Springfield Road, Parkstone, Dorset. Aug. 25, 1933, Nos. 23705 and 26884. [Class 110 (ii)] A rotary compressor comprises two rotors b geared together, each having a piston p and a recess s. Fluid is drawn in through a non-return valve j, past a spring-loaded disc q, and is delivered by way of a similar valve to a conduit m. The casing may have a cooling jacket. In a modified arrangement the valves are dispensed with, arcuate ports being provided in the side walls within the boundary of the rotors. These ports open into the working chambers through the recesses s. Fig. 5 shows a compressor a which delivers fluid to a container z through a non-return valve 4. A byepass valve 2, under control of a spring and the pressure in the container may allow fluid to pass from the delivery m to the suction side 1. The apparatus may act as a pump, or an engine.
