Abstract
428,773. Braiding-machines. KOHLER, W., 4, Auerhahnbalz, Zehlendorf, Berlin. Feb. 20, 1935, No. 5463. Convention date, Feb. 26, 1934. [Class 74 (i)] A machine with two open concentric rows of drivers 3, 3<1> is provided with double tracks 7, 8 and disc-like switches 9. The bobbincarriers 13 are guided in the tracks 7, 8 by pairs of lenticular shoes 15, their movement around the machine being determined by the switches. These switches have each, as shown, one or more tracks 12 cut in the top faces by means of which the bobbins may be transferred from one head to another. The arrangement of the tracks is such that a bobbin travelling along an outer track 7 of one head, passes, when transferred, to an inner track 8 and vice versa. The switches are provided with oilways which distribute oil to the shoes 15 and so to the tracks 7, 8. When the switches are sot as shown the bobbins travel in the paths indicated by single and double-headed arrows respectively. Two groups of bobbins may be independently operated by providing a driver which is common to both groups with twice the ordinary number of notches 18, or by rotating it at double the usual speed. A number of auxiliary drivers 5 or a common, central auxiliary driver are provided.
