Abstract

428,165. Thermionic valves. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. May 4, 1934, No. 13556. Convention date, May 17, 1933. [Class 39 (i)] Screens 21, 22 are provided over the open ends of a cylindrical imperforated cathode 20, so that no insulating parts other than those pertaining to the cathode structure can be met by stray electrons. The insulating parts of the cathode have a metal deposit or other metal screen to prevent charging of the insulation. The screens or a part thereof may be given a fixed potential such as the cathode potential by suitable connection. The getter carrier 12 is arranged outside the screens 21, 22. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes an arrangement wherein a screen 6, Fig. 1 (Cancelled), surrounds the electrode system, the screen including end plates 7, 8 which may be perforated or not. The spacing insulators 10, 11 and the getter support 12 are outside the screen. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
