Abstract
426,903. Plug couplings. ARNOLD, C. L., and M.K. ELECTRIC, Ltd., Wakefield Street, Edmonton, London. April 27, 1934, No. 12769. [Class 38 (i)] A resilient socket 13 is surrounded by a ring 11 to limit its expansion and by spring means embraced within the periphery of the ring 11 and forcing the split portions of the socket toward one another. As shown in Fig. 1, a contractile split ring 17 is arranged between a flange 12 on the ring 11 and the splayed end of the socket. In a modification, Fig. 2, (not shown), the flange 12 is bent over to retain the split ring. As shown in Fig. 3, the spring means comprises inwardlypressed tongues 24 formed by cuts 21, 22 in the flange 12 of the ring 11. In a modification, Fig. 5, (not shown), the tongues are formed by pairs of vertical cuts in the flange 12. Specification 402,474 is referred to.
