Abstract

426,710. Game apparatus. FRENCH, H. R., 11, Rodney Road, Great Yarmouth. Aug. 4, 1933, No. 21995. [Class 132 (ii)] Game apparatus comprises a series of playing boards having holes into which balls can be propelled to cause the operation of mechanism that results in the movement of objects associated with the playing boards. In the construction shown in the drawings, each player is provided with a board A<1>, &c., with numbered pin protected holes each corresponding to a movable horse or dog object G<1>, a ball I being rolled or propelled by the spring controlled plunger H towards the hole mumbered to correspond with the player's board and movable object. A misdirected ball may enter one of the other holes corresponding to the movable objects of the other players. The holes in each board are connected by tubes B<1>, &c., which communicate with tracks C<1> &c., extending to positions D<1>, &c., where they communicate with tracks E<1> &c. connected with tracks F<1> &c., along which the objects G<1> &c., are adapted to travel. The balls can travel along the various tubes or tracks by gravity. Each of the tracks F<1>, &c., comprises two boards J and K provided with longitudinal grooves and screwed together, the grooves forming an inclined track L for rollers M on a frame N extending from the object G<1>, &c. The frame N has an extension which projects downwardly to engage a weighted pawl or pivoted stop O normally preventing passage of an object G<1>, &c. A ball entering a track F<1>, &c., engages the depending end of a stop O and rotates it to allow passage of the object G<1>, &c., to the next stop, the ball then entering a hole Q for the next ball to pass over it. Balls collected in the holes Q are released by sliding the plate R to bring a series of holes R' into register with the holes Q, the balls falling through the holes R<1> into a track T along which they travel to a receptacle and thence to a common source of supply. Each playing board may be provided with a collector U leading to an inclined tube or track with a movable gate device for feeding them to the plunger H. In order to have the tracks F<1>, &c., at eye level, means may be provided at the positions D<1>, &c., whereby the balls are carried upwardly by buckets or collectors on endless chains or belts to be deposited in the tracks E<1> &c. In a modified construction the balls passing along the various tracks operate electrical contact devices rotating a series of pinions engaging a rack extending from the object. In this construction the tracks for the objects may be inclined or horizontal.
