[Class 132 (ii)] The invention relates to games wherein a playing piece, for example, a ball, is propelled over a board or other playing surface having marginal means for retaining the placing piece, by projectiles fired from repeating guns, and consists in enclosing the playing surface entirely or practically so by means through which the playing elements may be observed, and providing openings in the playing surface through which the projectiles may pass to be collected for replay. The embodiment of the invention described, a football game apparatus, comprises a playing surface formed by spaced rods 10 secured above a box-like receptacle 1. Detachable goals 8 and stops 9 are secured on crossbars 4, 5, a further crossbar 3 having a hole 6 for initially centring a light ball 7. In play, discs 18 are fired from pivotal guns 17, with the object of propelling the ball 7 through a goal 8, the spent projectiles failing between the rods 10 into the receptacle 1. The playing surface is covered by side and top gauze, transparent paper, or netting 21, 22, and holes 2 are provided in the receptacle 1 through which the discs 18 and ball 7 may be passed for replay, by tilting the apparatus. According to the Provisional Specification the projectiles may be balls or peas. The gun 17 comprises a block 15 pivoted at 19 to a block 13 and provided with a shallow rectangular ejector passage 16 through which discs placed in a magazine 18 are projected one by one by a spring biassed ejector 17.
