[Class 138 (i)] A cabinet for use in washing plates and dishes comprises a container open at the base, and provided with a removably-mounted rack having a number of compartments for the reception of crockery, a fixed spraying nozzle or rose being mounted in the upper end of each compartment of the rack. In the construction shown, a cabinet 1 lined with metal 7 is provided with brackets 11 to support a rack 10 which is formed from sections so that it can be taken apart for cleaning purposes. The lower members 10<a> fit detachably in the brackets 11 and support removable bars 10<b> preferably of diamond section. Dishes placed between the vertical bars 10<b> are cleansed by sprays issuing from roses 14 connected to a hot water conduit 13. The conduit and roses may be coated with or manufactured from rubber or like waterproof resilient material. The conduit is provided with a receptacle 15 containing detergent which may be entrained with the hot water passing through the conduit. A detachable trough 9 is placed below the cabinet to collect water draining therefrom, the trough having a filter 25 and a pipe 24 for attachment to a wastepipe. The cabinet has a cover 2 and doors 4, the latter having means for rendering them water-tight, for example, a rubber insertion in the door may be provided to abut against a similar insertion in the door frame, alternatively, the frame may have a groove adapted to trap water escaping through the closure and lead it back to the interior of the cabinet. In a modification the cabinet has two racks, one above the other. To dry the dishes after washing treatment, the doors are opened and the cover 2 is lifted, or alternatively, vent plugs are removed from the cover so that air can pass freely through the cabinet.
