Abstract

424,078. Stair - carpet fasteners. HALLDRON, C. R., Granville, Portobello, Willenhall, and WITHERIDGE, A. J., Linkside, Broadway, Walsall, both in Staffordshire. Oct. 19, 1933, No. 28957. [Class 52 (v)] A stair-carpet fastener comprises an attachment plate 1 having a longitudinally extending overlying return limb 2 engaging over the edge of the carpet, and a clip arm 3 slidable on the return limb, either the clip arm or the return limb being rearwardly flanged or channelled to receive the other component. As shown the clip arm has flanges 4 and tapers towards its free end which is folded over to form a head 5. The return limb 2 is tapered to give a wedge fit. A thumb piece 6 facilitates release of the arm. In a modification the return limb 2 is rearwardly channelled and the clip arm comprises a flat bar.
