Abstract
422,696. Instantaneous steam boilers. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Oct. 1, 1934, No. 28063. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1933. [Class 123 (ii)] In a boiler comprising two cylindrical walls formed of corrugated sheet metal or closely wound tube coils, the walls are connected by a coiled tube 16 forming a helical path for the heating gases between the walls. The tube coils are secured together by welding. Liquid is forced upwards through the inner tube wall, through coils 23 closing the top of the flue passages and then downwards through the outer tube wall to the outlet 10. Fuel and air under pressure are supplied to the combustion chamber 36 through a burner nozzle 34 and a conduit 37. The combustion products escape from the bottom of the helical flue between the walls to an outlet 38.
