Abstract
420,185. Kettles &c. COPPING, B. E., 9, Penton Street, Pentonville, London. July 17, 1933, No. 20194. [Class 66] The filling opening 13<c> of a kettle, &c., is disposed in the curved portion towards one side of the top of the body and is provided with a counterweighted flap or lid 13 normally closing the opening. The flap 13 and counterweight 15 are formed from a single strip of metal 18, Fig. 3, which also includes the bearing lugs 14 and the part to form the bearing bracket 16, the latter part being severed and secured to the top of the vessel by the lugs 16b. The flap is curved in conformity with the curved wall of the vessel and is formed with broad flanges 13<a> engaging the inner surface of the vessel around the opening.
