Abstract

419,276. Broaching-tools. LAPOINTE MACHINE TOOL CO., Ltd., and RANDALL, F. E., Edgware, Middlesex. July 16, 1934, No. 20807. Addition to 408,992. [Class 83 (iii).] In a broach as set forth in the parent Specification and consisting of alternating cutting discs a and guide discs b, the latter being formed with spacing projections e to form channels f for the escape of chips &c., the assembly of plates is retained independently of the housing g by a key j which does not interlock with the housing. The plates are inserted from one end of the housing and are retained between a pair of screwed plugs h. The housing has a drilled flange k for attachment to a machine and is provided with openings m through which lubricant delivered by a pipe p to the space o may pass to the cutters. One or more openings n allow chips and oil to escape from the cutters.
