419,120. Television. I.M.K. SYNDICATE, Ltd., 62, Cheapside, London. Nov. 27, 1933, No. 33151. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1932. Addition to 394,446. [Class 40 (iii).] A rotating mirror 3 reflects the picture to, or receives it from, a fixed ring of inwardly-facing mirrors 33. The ring of mirrors comprises a spiral of plano-convex lenses 34 silvered on the outer convex surface. The rays from a light source 37 pass through an incompletely silvered angularly arranged mirror 36 to the rotating mirror and, after reflection from the scanning ring, are reflected from the rotating mirror to the mirror 36 which projects the rays on a screen 39. According to modifications: the ring of mirrors consists of mirrors each slightly more or less inclined to the axis of the ring than the adjacent mirrors Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) ; the planes of two synchronously rotating mirrors, one on each side of the ring of mirrors, contain the axis of the ring so that the rays are reflected from one rotating mirror to the ring of mirrors, from this to the other rotating mirror, and thence to the screen Fig. 5 (not shown) ; two rings of mirrors have a common axis, and each co-operates with a separate rotating mirror, Fig. 6 (not shown) ; by silvering the rotating mirrors on both sides and illuminating each by a separate source of light, two zones are transmitted simultaneously.
