[Class 29.] Absorption systems.-In apparatus working on the reversing system with a solid absorbent such as calcium chloride, and in which a receiver 7 for refrigerant is provided between the condenser 5 and the evaporator coil 13, the capacity of the receiver and condenser is - such that they will contain the whole quantity of liquefied refrigerant which can be expelled, even if the heating should be prolonged through failure of the time switch. Preferably, the receiver is of sufficient capacity to receive the whole amount of the liquefied refrigerant under normal conditions, with a free vapour space above the liquid in the evaporating phase. The generator-absorber 1 and the condenser are arranged for air cooling in an open casing above a refrigerator, and the receiver and connecting pipes are enclosed in insulation 9, while the evaporator is located in a cold accumulator tank 14 inside the refrigerator.
