Abstract

Goods having a high degree of hardness and low extensibility are prepared from aqueous dispersions of rubber and the like which contain an admixture of flocculent precipitants of the type which are produced from dilute aqueous dispersions of rubber and the like by the formation of compounding ingredients in situ, such as by the process described in Specification 373,262. Aqueous p dispersions such as are produced according to Specifications 219,635 and 290,313, [both in Class 70], are particularly suitable. In an example a paste like mass containing 12 1/2 per cent total solids and produced by the precipitation of aluminium silicate in 65 parts of 60 per cent latex diluted with 1500 parts of water is added to 308 parts of a 60 per cent latex containing 12 parts of casein solution, and well mixed by stirring. The product is ready for use for the production of goods by any of the known methods.
