416,951. Stencils. HOBBS, W. T. G., 35, Queen's Square, Battersea, and GOODMAN, H., 2, Grove Mansions, North Side, Clapham Common, both in London. Aug. 24, 1933, No. 23507. [Class 100 (ii).] A silk-screen stencil is manufactured by uniting two transparent paper sheets by means of earth wax, one of the sheets forming a backing sheet and the other having parts cut away in accordance with the design to be reproduced and having a non-adhesive surface which becomes adhesive only when heat is applied, placing the screen on the top sheet and applying heat to cause the sheet to adhere to the screen, and simultaneously removing the backing sheet. The non-adhesive surface may be produced by applying a composition comprising resin, alcohol, shellac, methylated spirits, linseed oil, and amyl acetate. Multicolour designs may be reproduced by cleaning the screen after printing the first colour and successively applying cutout sheets corresponding to the remaining colours.
