416,738. Hearth fenders. SMART, L. R., Stanley Works, Sherbourne Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham. June 13, 1933, No. 16821. [Class 126.] In a hearth curb with a box-like structure 1 at each end and a front cross-bar 5 which slidably engages with the members 1, a socket member 3 projects from the front of each member 1 and slidably receives the end of the bar 5. The socket 3 is formed as a separate part, attached at its flange 3b and its lower edge to the box 1, and the plate closing its outer end is separately formed.
