Abstract

A coating of cadmium or cadmium alloy is applied to iron, copper, or alloys of these metals to protect them from corrosion and to facilitate cold working, e.g. rolling, drawing, or forging. The coating may be applied electrolytically or by dipping. An alloy consisting of 83 per cent cadmium and 17 per cent zinc is referred to.
