411,615. Pipe joints. McGOWAN, P. D., 15, Hart Street, DRUMMOND, W. F., Oakfield House, Pleasance, and ROBERTSON, J., 63, York Place, all in Edinburgh. March 9, 1933, No. 7111. Addition to 346,855. [Class 99 (i).] In the pipe joint described in the parent Specification in which the tapered end B of a pipe fitting, such as a nozzle A, engages in the expanded end of a pipe F, and a nut H screws on to an internally tapered sleeve G and has an internal flange J bearing against a two-part washer E received in a recess D in the fitting, an improvement comprises the provision of more than one recess D, the most suitable being chosen for the reception of the washer according to the size of the pipe to be connected. In a modified arrangement for connecting two pipes, the pipes are drawn on to a double conical ferrule L by a nut H and two sleeves M, N, the sleeve N having a plurality of recesses D for reception of the two-part washer E.
