Abstract
410,850. Delivering measured quantities of liquid. SIMMONDS, P. C., Barnsdale Garage, Barnsdale Road, and ROLPH, W. M., 1, Dover Street, Piccadilly, both in London. Nov. 24, 1932, No. 33274. [Class 106 (v).] In apparatus for delivering measured quantities of liquid from a bottle or like container of the type wherein a valve body e controlled by a spring q and operated by a lever s is movably arranged in a measuring chamber a between two valve seats, the measuring chamber comprises a glass cylinder f clamped between two metal caps h, i, the inlet cap i having a tubular extension d for attachment to the container and serving as a housing for the spring q and as a mounting for the lever s. The caps h, i are clamped together by a rod l secured at one end to the inlet cap i by a spider m and having at the other end a nut n bearing against a shoulder in the cap h. The rod serves as a guide for the spring q and valve body e which is provided with washers o and p adapted to seat against the caps h and i respectively. The operating lever is pivoted to the extension d and connected by a link t with a cross-pin in a fork v formed at the inlet end of the valve body. The extension d is provided with a sleeve x of cork or the like for insertion in a bottle to which it may be clamped by a clip y carried by an arm z.
