410,764. Odometers; revolution counters. NORTH & SONS, Ltd., Whippendell Road, and ALLEN, A. MASSEY-, 142, Queen's Avenue, both in Watford, Hertfordshire. Nov. 22, 1932, No. 32987. [Classes 106 (i) and 106 (iii).] A distanceindicating or revolution - counting device particularly a mileage indicator for a vehicle is provided with a reducing gear train which includes several worm gears in series and a spur wheel combination which can be readily interchanged to vary the overall reduction ratio. A speedometer shaft 2 actuates the first element of a counter 17 through several pairs of worm reduction gear 6, 8, 12 and a pair of spur toothed gears 14, 15 which may be readily removed and replaced by another pair when the cover 19 is detached. The apparatus may be associated with a speedometer of the permanent magnet generator type as described in Specification 409,768.
