[Class 6 (i).] In a portable blowlamp apparatus for burning weeds, thawing frozen soil &c., a curved or straight manipulating bar 6 is fitted with the burner 10 at one end and a handle at the other end and is suspended as by a chain 7 from a hook 8 on one of the shoulder straps 9 by which the liquid-fuel container 1 is carried on the back of the operator. The container 1 is provided with an air pump 2 and is connected by a flexible pipe 4 with a duct in the bar leading to the burner, a control valve 11 being provided. The bar may be provided at the front end with a projecting part for supporting the burner clear of the ground and adapted for scratching the soil.
