Abstract
408,722. Teeth-cleaning apparatus. POOLE, E. T., 12, Cambridge Road, Colchester. Nov. 4, 1932, No. 31104. [Class 131.] Apparatus for cleansing the teeth by a jet of liquid comprises a reservoir 4 for liquid, preferably having a spherical base and a domed lid, furnished with a central pipe 12 extending to the bottom of the reservoir and connected by a flexible tube 13 with an outlet tube 17 ; the reservoir contains a handoperated air pump 7, preferably of the piston-cylinder type and has a filling hole 9 closed by a screw-cap 10 provided with an airrelease valve 11. The outlet tube 17 is provided with a valve 18, opened by pressure on a spring-pressed knob 19 to pass liquid forced out by the air pressure in the reservoir, and carries a detachable nozzle 21 which may be replaced by one of different size or shape, e.g. slightly bent, or by a brush with a tubular perforated stock. The reser voir 4 may be hung upon the person or elsewhere by a hook 5 or may have detachable or collapsable legs 15 fitted with rubber feet 16.
