Abstract

407,683. Operating doors by weights. MOTT, S. F., Spinney Close, Leamington- Hastings, near Rugby. Sept. 20, 1932, No. 26139. [Class 65 (i).] A garage or like door hinged at its upper horizontal edge 19 has a pivoted weighted balancing and operating lever 1 connected to the lower edge of the door by a cable 4 guided by pulleys 6-9, the pulleys 8, 9 being mounted on a strut 24 of the frame 12-14 secured to the wall and projecting outwardly a distance equal to the height of the door. More than one lever may be provided, the weight of the combined weights being equal to half that of the door. A short operating lever may be provided on the spindle of the counterweighted lever or the weighted lever may be mounted outside the garage.
