Abstract
406,543. Skis. TAPPE, F. G., 12, Akersveien, Oslo, Norway. June 16, 1933, No: 17238. Convention date, June 22, 1932. [Class 132 (i).] A ski-binding comprises a resilient heel plate having its back part raised above the ski, resilient tongues bent up therefrom and adapted to engage grooves in the heel of the ski-boot, with means adjustably connecting the heel plate with the toe lugs. As shown, the heel plate 5, 51 is connected to the rigid toe lugs 1 by links 2 and arms 4. The heel plate part 5<1>, which is made of steel or like resilient material is provided with resilient upturned tongues 6 adapted to engage in grooves in the heel of the ski-boot, and with a tongue 7 by pressure on which with a ski-pole the tongues 6 are disengaged from the grooves. The rear part of the heel plate 5<1> is normally positioned slightly above the upper face of the ski. The plate 5' is bent round the member 5 and is adjustable thereon, the member 5 having a longitudinal slot 8 with teeth 9 along both edges. An opening in the member 5<1> carries a locking member 10 having teeth normally engaging the teeth 9. The member 10 is locked in this position by a part 12 and a spring 11, the ends of which engage depressions 11<1> in the member 5<1> locking the part 12 in the transverse position and locking the members 5 and 5<1> together. When the parts 11 and 12 are turned about the pin 12<1> to the longitudinal position the part 12 may be depressed to disengage temporarily the member 10 from the teeth 9 and be adjusted to a new position. Release of the part 12 allows the member 10 to re-engage the teeth 9 under pressure of the spring 11.
