Abstract
405,969. Portable seats. DAVIES, J. S., 23, Manchester Road, Chorlton-cum- Hardy, Manchester. May 9, 1932, No. 13270. [Class 52 (ii).] A portable seat comprises a tube a, Fig. 2, two arms e adapted to be withdrawn within the tube a or extended therefrom as shown, two movable cross-members g at the outer ends of the arms, and a seating surface of canvas or other material adapted to be secured between the cross - members g by means of pockets in the canvas. The arms e are connected by a pin f, Fig. 6, and are retained in the extended position by bearing against a pin c in the tube a, against the upper end of the tube a, preferably in notches formed therein, and against the interior of the tube. The ends of the arms may be cut at an angle as shown to bear against the tube. The lower end of the tube a, Fig. 2, is preferably provided with an extending spike i which is retained in extended position by a pin k passing through holes in the tube and in the spike.
