Abstract

404,942. Ventilating vehicles. BISHOP, W. H., 48, Moor Street, Birmingham. July 23, 1932, No. 20763. [Class 137.] A vehicle body of the saloon type with a sliding roof panel is ventilated by the provision at the front of the roof, or at the upper portion of the back or at both places of a transverse hood a or c each gradually increasing in its spacing from the normal roof line to leave a rearwardly facing opening in communication by an opening b or e with the interior of the saloon. Motion of the vehicle, by an ejector action, withdraws air from within the saloon. The sliding roof panel f is arranged to be drawn back as shown at g, Fig. 2, to provide an opening greater than is usually possible with an ordinary roof. The opening b may be provided with a slotted cover plate h, and slotted shutter j movable by a handle k, and a sheet metal cover l with cowled openings m prevents water from entering the opening b.
