Abstract
404,838. Direct-injection oil engines. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Maschinenfabrik Augsburg - Niirnberg Akt.-Ges. ; Nuremberg, Germany.) April 8, 1933, No. 10612. [Class 7 (iii).] The outlets f, g of one or more air accumulators b, c are arranged in proximity to the throttled outlet h of a precombustion chamber a. The pocket may surround the precombustion chamber, and the outlets f, g may be arranged tangentially to the outlet of the precombustion chamber. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the precombustion chamber I is arranged laterally and exerts an ejector action on the jets of air from the pocket p, which distributes the air in a fan-like manner over the end of the piston.
