Abstract
404,424. Rotary engines. LEDACSKISS, A., 4, Kapuczinus-utca, Budapest. Oct. 19, 1932, No. 29293. [Class 110 (ii).] An elastic-fluid engine of the internally-meshing gear type has teeth formed such that on the expansion side the teeth of the inner gear 12 bear in sealing relationship against the flanks of the teeth of the outer gear 11, but on the side before the position of the dead centre line x, clearances are formed between the teeth. The teeth of the outer gear are furnished with resilientlyarranged packing bars 38. The profile of each tooth A may be circular, elliptical, or parabolic, and the faces of the teeth B are generated by rolling the heads of the teeth A on the flanks of the co-operating teeth in the ring 11. The shaft 13, Fig. 2, of the gear 11 has a collar 25 located in a screwed block 24 to provide for axial adjustment of the gear 11. The stub shaft 14 of the inner gear 12 is supported in spaced bearings 19, 20. Such bearings may also support the shaft 13. Inlet and outlet ports 17, 18, are provided in an end casting 16 ; also a crescent-shaped filling block 27 which lies between the gears. Fig. 4 shows rollers 33 which bear on the outer periphery of the gear 11 to keep it in position. The crutches 34, which support the rollers, are adjustable radially by means of wedges 37, eccentrics, or other means. Several toothed wheels 12 may be arranged to co-operate with one gear-wheel 11.
