Abstract

403,900. Rollers. TULLIS, Ltd., D. & J., and TULLIS, A. F., Kilbowie Road, Clydebank. July 15, 1933, No. 20038. [Class 42 (ii).] A padded roller for an ironing-machine of the type described in Specification 378,820 is formed with a series of circumferential grooves 2 in which spring-padding is secured, and a number of spaced longitudinal grooves 3 which intersect the circumferential grooves and communicate at each end with the atmosphere. The padding is in the form of strips 5 on which pairs of springs 6 are threaded and the free surface of the padding is covered with a sleeve 8 of stockinette or the like.
