Abstract
402,182. Opening tops ; vehicle doors. DASTE, M. J., 12, Rue Pierre L'homme, Courbevoie, Seine, France. July 9, 1932, No. 19425. [Classes 103 (ii) and 108 (i).] In a movable roof for a vehicle the front rail is provided at its ends with locks adapted to engage upon two parallel catches supported by the fixed parts of the body. The movable front bar of the opening top is provided with a bolt b at each end having a locking bar c adapted to pass through a transverse aperture in catches secured to the fixed part of the vehicle such as at each end of the windscreen. The locking bars c are operated simultaneously by means of rods d projections e, a disk f and a handle or the like h. Each catch k, the catches being arranged parallel to one another, is conical, pyramidal, or like shape and is mounted on the windscreen pillars by any suitable means such as silent blocks and is provided with a sloping top k<1> to facilitate entrance into the corresponding aperture b2 in the bolt, a transverse aperture k<2> being provided for the locking bar. In the case of a sliding panel the catches are arranged horizontally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The catches are suitable for the dickey seat lids. The catches may be tapered upwardly and dovetail in horizontal section. Specification 370,837 is referred to.
