Abstract

401,322. Coffee percolators. CHAMBERLIN, H. E., Rockside, Dinas Powis, Glamorgan. May 7, 1932, No. 13240. [Class 129.] In a two-part coffee percolator, the water is heated in the lower vessel 3 and is forced up the central tube 8 into the chamber 6 containing the coffee grounds by steam pressure. The beverage then returns by gravity to the vessel 3 through the filter 10 which is secured in position by a spring rod 11 having a hook 12 for engaging the lower part of the tube 8. The water passes through the filter on its upward journey and also on its return journey. The bottom of the infusion chamber 6 is funnel shaped and the beverage can be poured from the spout 4 without removing the upper chamber 6.
