Abstract

400,108. Bolts and nuts. DARDELET THREADLOCK CORPORATION, 120, Broadway, Manhattan, New York, U.S.A. Sept. 29, 1932, No. 12301/33. Convention date, April 8, 1932. Divided on 399,980. [Class 89 (i).] For use with bolts 1b having corrugated or fluted shanks the working surface of the head 4 and of the nut 2a are formed with ribs 10, 11 on their faces. The bolt has parallel flutes 6a on the shank and the head is provided with annular ribs 10 adapted to grip the surface of the work when the nut is tightened. The face of the nut 2a may have similar ribs 11. For gripping thin materials s, the fluted portion is short and the ribs are of triangulated form 6b. The ribs 10a in the head of the bolt and 11a in the face of the nut are slightly displaced relatively so that when the thin sheets s to be united are firmly gripped, corrugations are produced.
