[Class 40 (v).] A tone-control circuit for a wireless receiver, particularly intended to cut out heterodyne whistles and other disturbances, comprises a high resistance r connected between the grid of a low-frequency amplifier e and the coupling to the preceding valve a, and a variable condenser k connected between grid and cathode of the low-frequency amplifier. As shown in the Figure, the inter-valve coupling is of the resistance-capacity type, and bias is applied to the grid of the valve e through a leak resistance h. An auto-transformer may replace the plate resistance w, the valve plate being tapped to an intermediate point on the coil. The valve e may have a screening-grid, and may be the output valve:
