[Classes 36 and 38 (i).] To seal the lead-in of an oil-filled condenser &c. a screw-threaded socket secured to or integral with the casing holds an elastic packing ring 2 compressed against a metal conducting rod 1 by a correspondingly screwed plug 3. In a modification the rod is hollow, a lead-in wire passes through it, and it is sealed at its inner end by solder &c. The bush and the socket may be of insulating material.
