Convention dates, Feb. 12, 1932 and July 30, 1932. [Class 37.] An electric resistance element used as a hot plate consists of a wire 8 embedded.in an uninterrupted.quartz plate 4 and arranged over a reflector 3. The element 8 may also be arranged between the plate 4 and a lower plate of quartz, mica, asbestos, or other refractory material. The plate 4 may consist of a number of tubular members containing the resistance wires and arranged to give a substantially uninterrupted surface.
