Abstract

395,596. Converting. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 29, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. , Dec. 20, 1932, No. 36109. Convention date, Jan. 8. [Class 38 (ii).] Thermionic valves 1, 2, 3 in a generating or amplifying circuit have output circuits which include a combination of resistance 4, 6 and capacity 5, 7 or a combination of resistance and inductance (not shown), which brings about a phase displacement of 180‹ in the desired frequency, and reaction, which is strongly negative for the other frequencies, prevents amplification of those frequencies. As shown, three valves are used with reaction taken by a conductor 8 from the output of the last valve 3 to the input to the first valve 1. The reaction is regulated by a variable tapping 17 or by varying the grid bias of one or more valves. Screened-grid valves are used to neutralize the influence of anode-grid capacity. The condensers or the resistances are varied to regulate the frequency amplified. A single valve may be employed, Fig. 3 (not shown).
