Abstract

395,470. Spectacle cases. BLACK. BURN, A., c/o Raphael's, Ltd., Hatton Garden, London. April 12, 1932, No. 10493. [Class 97 (i).] A spectacle case comprising a body and a lid hinged together is provided with a spring e to hold the lid closed. This spring is of substantial length, e.g. half the length of the case, and is rigidly secured throughout its length to the outer edge of one of the two parts of the case so as to extend vertically above the edge of the part to which it is secured, and it is adapted to take over an inwardly projecting bead g on the edge of the other part. The co-operating edges of the body and lid are recessed so that the case can be opened by means of a thumbnail. The lid hinge is covered by a strip of fabric f, and the lining of the body part of the case is secured at its periphery to a fillet d<1> of wood.
